📝 Magpul ZHUKOV Handguard for AK-47/AK-74 Black MAG586-BLK
The Magpul Zhukov Hand Guard MAG586-BLK from Magpul is a modern ergonomic polymer handguard for carbines and rifles based on AK-47 / AKM / AK-74 platforms in black color. The model is designed as a functional upgrade of the classic AK front end, providing improved weapon control, reduced heat transfer to the shooter’s hand, and the ability to mount equipment without using bulky metal rail systems.
The construction is designed for intensive use, burst firing, and operation in difficult conditions. The handguard combines low weight, mechanical strength, and modern ergonomics.
🫡 We are a team of veterans
The front part of the rifle is a constant contact area between the shooter’s hand and the weapon. Heat, balance, and control are felt here. Zhukov provides a stable grip, does not slip even with gloves, better insulates the hand from overheating, and allows mounting a light, foregrip, or other equipment without overloading the front end of the rifle.

💬 Comment
Zhukov is a working solution rather than decorative customization. The larger profile allows a secure grip on the front of the weapon during active use, movement, and burst fire. Rib geometry improves control and prevents hand shift.
The heat-resistant polymer is significantly lighter than aluminum systems, so the weapon is less front-heavy. The internal anodized aluminum plate helps dissipate heat from the barrel and gas system, reducing surface overheating during intensive firing.
M-LOK slots allow mounting lights, grips, rails, sling mounts, and other accessories without unnecessary weight. The model is compatible with UltiMAK Optics Mount, but not suitable for Yugoslav AK variants, RPK, and some non-standard configurations.
🎯 Suitable for
This model is chosen by shooters who actively work with the AK platform and feel the difference between the standard narrow handguard and modern ergonomics. It suits training, dynamic shooting, and long-term carrying where control, balance, and hand heat insulation are important.
Zhukov is relevant where the front end of the rifle is constantly in use — holding, maneuvering, burst firing, and using mounted equipment. It is a solution for those who want a lightweight, durable, and functional handguard without unnecessary mass.
