For AK pistol grips

Magpul, DLG Tactical & FAB Defense AK Pistol Grips — Ergonomic Grips for AK-47, AKM & AK-74

The factory Bakelite or wooden pistol grip on Kalashnikov platforms was designed around mid-20th-century doctrine, lacking the biomechanical contours required for modern weapon handling: its thin profile, sharp rearward rake, and slick finish cause hand slippage, accelerate wrist fatigue, and reduce muzzle control during rapid or automatic fire. Upgrading an AK to an ergonomically contoured grip is one of the most accessible and impactful modifications for tailored weapon control. This category covers three primary engineering approaches:

• Magpul (MOE AK & MOE+ AK Series): High-strength reinforced nylon chassis engineered with aggressive TSP (Trapezoidal Surface Projections) texture or heavy-duty rubberized overmolding (MOE+). Delivers exceptional purchase in wet, freezing, or muddy conditions and when operating with heavy tactical gloves.

• DLG Tactical: Rugged polymer and rubber-overmolded grips featuring anatomically indexed finger grooves, an extended beavertail tang to reduce wrist strain during extended low-ready retention, and a sealed internal storage core for spare batteries or small maintenance tools.

• FAB Defense (Gradus AK, AGR-47 & AG-47 Series): Tactical ergonomic grips engineered for high-stress operations. The Gradus features a reduced 15-degree grip angle optimized for CQB stances, plate-carrier clearance, and precision holdovers, while the AGR-47 incorporates multi-textured rubber overmolding for superior traction.

All featured grips mount directly to standard stamped and milled AK-47, AKM, AK-74, AKS-74U, and RPK receiver tangs using the factory frame screw and T-nut interface without requiring receiver modification. Applying medium-strength threadlocker during installation prevents fastener loosening caused by continuous automatic recoil cycles.

Key Technical Features

• Reinforced Polymer Construction: Impact-modified nylon and glass-filled composites (Magpul, DLG, FAB Defense) resist drops onto concrete, surface abrasions, and extreme environmental temperatures.

• Non-Slip Tactile Overmolds: Rubberized grip textures (DLG, FAB Defense AGR-47) and elastomer coatings (Magpul MOE+) provide positive weapon retention through rain, mud, and oil exposure.

• High-Hold Beavertail Ergonomics: Integrated upper tang geometry supports a higher hand placement closer to the bore line, mitigating muzzle climb and wrist fatigue.

• Reduced Rake Angles: Straightened grip profiles (such as the 15° FAB Defense Gradus) align the wrist naturally when wearing body armor or operating with shortened stocks.

• Direct-Mount AK Interface: Standard drop-in compatibility across AK-47, AKM, AK-74, and civilian semi-automatic platforms without aftermarket adapter blocks.

• Internal Storage Cavities: Sealed bottom-cap compartments securely house backup CR123A/CR2032 batteries, front sight adjustment tools, or small cleaning gear.

• Camouflage Color Matching: Offered in Black, Flat Dark Earth (FDE), Olive Drab (OD Green), Coyote, and authentic Russian Plum to match firearm furniture sets.

• Recoil & Vibration Resistance: Monolithic structural profiles withstand heavy cyclic shock and maintain zero-wobble receiver lockup under sustained fire.
